Furthering International Bio Chem Engagement

As part of the STCU’s Partnership Program and in order to strengthen research collaboration in bio chem areas, develop joint projects, and discuss the problems and perspectives of establishing a sustainable biotechnology sector in the STCU’s Recipient Countries, two major events were recently held.

A delegation including top scientists from ten institutes from Georgia, Ukraine and Uzbekistan attended the BIO 2004 Annual International Convention which was held from June 6-9, 2004 in San Francisco (www.bio.org/events/2004). The scientists participated in the complementary meetings with representatives of the following programs/organizations:

From July 7 – 16, 2004, fifteen Ukrainian bio chem institutions were visited by a delegation from the USA including representatives of the following programs:
