Republic of South Africa Delegation to Visit the STCU

On September 18, 2003, the STCU will be proudly hosting a delegation from the Republic of South Africa. The members of the delegation, whose visit is being organized by the Embassy of the Republic of South Africa in Ukraine with the assistance of the STCU, include Ms. Nthabiseng Malefane-Letoaba, South African Government representative; Professor Iqbal Parker, an expert on Biotechnology; Professor Roy Marcus, an expert in engineering and technology transfer, and Dr. Phil Mjwara, who specializes in laser physics.

The visit will focus on the R&D developments of Ukrainian scientists, and, in particular, opportunities for the use of lasers in health and materials processing; optical research, as well as manufacturing and measurement technologies. During their visit, the delegation will also meet with representatives of the Ministry of Education and Science and the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine. Meetings are also planned with Taras Shevchenko Kyiv National University and the Institute of Radiation Medicine.
