Prydniprovsky Chemical Plant in Kamyanske where uranium ore was processed for nuclear reactors during the Soviet Union period now presents a serious environmental danger and hazardous conditions for the local population. The EU is supporting Ukraine in a strategy to mitigate these risks, prevent further damage and with a view to longer term remediation of the site.

This video illustrates the dangers, the measures taken to counter them and the need for continuing efforts and resources to create a cleaner, safer environment.
