On 24-27 January, the STCU conducted a study visit mission in Georgia lead by Deputy Executive Director (EU) Michel Zayet to identify state financial support opportunities towards co-funding of research projects.

On 24-27 January, the STCU conducted a study visit mission in Georgia lead by Deputy Executive Director (EU) Michel Zayet to identify state financial support opportunities towards co-funding of research projects. Dr. Nodar Surguladze, Deputy Minister of the Ministry of Education and Sciences of Georgia and Mr. Sulkhan Sisauri, General Director of the Shota Rustaveli National Science Foundation detailed the Science priorities of the Country and suggested further collaboration through the combined mobilization of financial means involving their state budget, partner organization to STCU and the Funding Parties (through their bilateral collaboration activities).

Specific reference was made to collaborations with the CERN in Geneva (www.cern.ch), with the European Union Framework Program 7 for Research (cordis.europa.eu), and to potential participation of Georgian Government Representatives as well as Shota Rustaveli Science Foundation and local scientists, to the 2012 series of promotional events STCU wishes to organize like attending the Hanover Messe in Germany.
